Lion Gulch Trail | Homestead Meadows
Lion Gulch Trail is nice out-and-back trail that leads to a meadow area that is the site of numerous old homesteads. The trail can be a bit challenging technically but is well worth the effort. The homesteads in the area were built in the 1800's and 1900's are provide for nice photographic opportunities.
Camping is permitted in the area and in the meadows at the end of the trail.
Mountain biking is permitted on Lion Gulch Trail and can be a good technical challenge. Wood bridges provide crossing where the trail meets the associated stream.

Lion Gulch Trail is off Foothills Highway (US 36/CO 7) north of Boulder. Follow Highway 36 to the town of Lyons. Follow the road through Lyons and out 12.2 miles towards Estes Park. The Lion Gulch trailhead is on the left side.
