Chautauqua Park & Mesa
The Chautauqua Park area and trails are a huge attraction in Boulder for both locals and visitors.
The Dining Hall and Auditorium are also popular spots to eat and see top quality shows. Weddings are frequent in the spring.
The area features a very popular trail area at the foot of the Flatirons, the historic Dining Hall, an Auditorium, and a park. It is also a popular sledding spot in the winter months. 60 rental cottages dot the area at the base of the trail area and Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) and are available during the summer months.

Chautauqua Dining Hall
Chautauqua Dining Hall has been in Boulder since 1898, and was recently designated a National Historic Landmark. You can enjoy spectacular views while enjoying classic American cooking at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dining hall offers a kids menu and great fruit pies.
The Dining Hall offers a full bar with local beers and great wines and is a popular place in Boulder for weddings, private parties, or special celebrations. Dining hall hours are seasonal.

Chautauqua Park
Chautauqua Park is a good spot for a frisbee game and is a popular spot for dogs as well. There is also tennis and a playground for kids. The park has a great view of the flatirons and Boulder valley. However, there are often weddings and events in the area so occasional crowds can be expected.

Ranger's Cottage
The Ranger's Cottage at the Chautauqua Mesa and trail head area is right at the primary trailhead. Both at the cottage or the trailhead you will find park maps, brochures and information. The cottage is usually staffed according to the following schedule:
- Sat: 9 am - 4 pm
- Sun: 9 am - 4pm
Trailhead & Mesa
The Chautauqua area is a primary trailhead for a large number of trails in the Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) and the mesa at the trailhead is popular for visitors, photographers, and winter time sledding.
- Primary access to the Flatirons and OSMP Trails
- Northern end access to Mesa Trail
- Sledding in pre-designated area. Trailhead will generally have a sign / map

Winter Sledding Park

Chautauqua meadow is a popular area for sledding in the winter time.
Sledding is usually permitted in a selected area on the front hills but the location changes to minimize wear and tear on any one spot.
The park is very good about having a sign at the trailhead area to let you know where you can sled.
